Each season, ASC presents a series of intimate Lieder Lounge performances, highlighting some of the most exciting artistic champions of art song. These recitals often focus on a theme, set of composers, or ideas the artists want to explore on an intimate recital stage.

Our first Lieder Lounge features the debut of recent Ryan Opera Center graduate, baritone Finn Sagal. Sagal was recently named 3rd prize winner at the prestigious 2025 Neue Stimmen Competition. In the summer of 2025, Sagal made his role debut as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte in a production also marking Renée Fleming’s directorial debut under the musical direction of Patrick Summers at the Aspen Opera Theater. He is joined by the long-time music director of Ryan Opera Center Music Director and Art Song Chicago friend, pianist Craig Terry.
